Without question, besides pruning the trees, the first major garden action is planting the raspberry plants we brought with us:

• Creation of planting trenches on the slope for flowing irrigation with spring water
• Placement of fresh cuttings
• Covering with partially earthen sheep manure
• Interspersing with charcoal and ashes from the wood furnace
• Application of finished compost (to follow)
• Covering with straw from the barn (follows)
• Construction of the trellis (follows)
• Regular covering with green cuttings

Also in the house it goes on diligently with unpacking and furnishing as well as the handicraft work. The first designs for the vacation home have been received. The inaugural visit to the town hall was very constructive. We are looking forward to getting started with the gîte soon.
